Knights Win at BGA in Season Opener

The Knights senior quarterback Coby Walton picked up right where he left off last season by throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's Week 1 win in Franklin. His top target Chance Fitzgerald collected eight receptions for 190 yards and TD, while Eric Harper caught the other touchdown and Dylan Northcutt added five catches for 67 yards. Samson Johnson rushed for two scores with 95 yards on 14 touches for the Nolensville ground game. After leading 21-14 at the half, Johnson's second TD with 5:04 to play in the third quarter extended the Knights' lead to 28-14. Reese Miller added a 24-yard field goal early in the fourth for the visitors and Zion Tamaska put the finishing touches on the contest with a 4-yard touchdown run. Trey Woods was a menace on defense with three sacks to lead the Knights. Nolensville out-gained the Wildcats 466-193 on the night. Austin Ford gained 132 yards on 21 carries with two touchdowns to pace BGA. Will Evans led the defense with seven tackles. The Wildcats head into a Thursday matchup at Ravenwood in Week 2, while Nolensville hosts Giles County on Friday.
